Makeup you can sleep In?
"I've been in business for 15 years and I'll use only mineral makeup on my clients at my spa, me2beauty, because it enhances the skin instead of covering it up. Women always think they shouldn't put on makeupafter a facial, but I apply mineral makeup immediately afterwards so they can walk out looking and feeling great."

The Least Painful Types of Wax
... "For areas that have a lot of hair but are sensitive, like the face, bikini, and underarms, hard wax is best. It also works well on short hair because it grasps the hair better. And since it isn't heated, it's less irritating," explains Boca Raton, FL aesthetician Ileana Moreno.

Depilatories
... "They chemically destroy the hair and are then massaged or showered off," Moreno explains. However they can cause irritation, rashes and redness.

A cream that stunts hair growth
Waxing leaves the skin smooth and hair-free for only so long, which is why some aestheticians choose to use a hair-stunning cream directly after waxing. "I like the Epilar System, which is massaged into the skin," Moreno says. "It contains two different encyms that inhibit future hair growth and prevent ingrowns, too."

On The Verge -
Whether traditional, spiritual or avant-garde, 2006's rising stars are changing the face of beauty.

A veteran of Bliss Spa and Takashimaya, Moreno, 42 says she can relate to product junkies "who try a new cream every week." But she knows the dangers of what she calls "overprocessing" skin. She shuns newfangled contraptions and harsh products in favor of steamed towels, soothing balms and oils. Clients are allowed to resurrect their Chanel and Sisley habits "when the time is right, of course."

Boca Raton

the skinny on skin
For those who can't quite make a week-long retreat out of skin care, here's a crib sheet on the most common complexion problems. Owner of the new Me2 Beauty studio and 20-year skin are industry veteran Ileana Moreno says the big problem today is over-processed skin. "We go overboard," she says.

On top of using harsh soap-based cleansers, many exfoliate and strip the natural moisture off their faces. Moreno recommends just using a washcloth to exfoliate at night and skin the deep cleansing. In the morning, opt for something gentler like a mask.

Most skin types do better with a cream-based cleanser that removes dirt without leaving a film residue.
